Success for first Holywell Jobs Fair

The inaugural Holywell town jobs, skills and careers event took place recently.
It was held alongside the weekly market and a free funfair, providing a great opportunity for many people to attend.
The Jobs Fair was organised by Communities for Work working in collaboration with Jobcentre Plus and Careers Wales.听 It was aimed at adults and young people seeking work across all employment sectors and it proved to be another successful collaboration.
Residents of Holywell and the surrounding local communities were pleased to have such an event held on their doorstep which gave them chance to find out about the employment opportunities available to them along with information from providers such as Careers Wales and Communities For Work.听 听
Over 12 employers were in attendance on the day including Haven, New Directions, 2 Sisters and Tiffin Sandwiches with over 200 vacancies on offer.听 Here鈥檚 what some of the employers had to say:
鈥淚 thought it was really good to tag it on to the family event that was taking place in the High Street. This resulted in a lot of footfall and probably interest from people who wouldn鈥檛 have considered us as employers otherwise.鈥�
鈥淕ood event with high footfall. Has already generated a number of applications.鈥�
鈥淟ots of forms completed; one has made contact to arrange a visit at the Unit. During summer, can we have more events like this as it was open to the wider public and I believe more approachable.鈥澨�
Feedback from attendees as well as the employers was very positive with the quality of candidates and level of engagement very high.听 The opportunity to have one to one discussion direct with employers proved to be instrumental with some candidates being called for interview straight away.听 听
