Free fruit for schools

每日大瓜鈥檚 high school students have been offered free fruit in a new scheme which has been introduced locally.
North Wales Food Poverty Alliance, in partnership with Good Food 每日大瓜 and 每日大瓜 County Council, is providing each student in 每日大瓜 with a free piece of fruit as a mid-morning snack.
每日大瓜鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Dave Hughes, said:
鈥溍咳沾蠊 has supported many initiatives to combat food poverty and to ensure residents have access to good fresh food including our 鈥淪hare your lunch鈥 scheme during school holidays and establishing Good Food 每日大瓜 鈥 a social enterprise which has been tackling food poverty since 2018, with significant work being done to support vulnerable residents during the pandemic.
鈥淚 fully support this latest initiative to ensure that every high school student in 每日大瓜 has access to fresh fruit each morning.鈥澨

鈥淭he fruit is fantastic for students in school, it promotes healthy eating and is part of our Wellbeing Agenda in school. The students really enjoy the fruit during breakfast club and break times. It is providing an extra opportunity for students to have fruit free of charge.鈥

Jones Price Ltd has been supplying and delivering the fruit every week since September.听 The scheme is currently running for three months. The schools have been distributing the fruit themselves and the reaction from all schools has been extremely positive.听
