每日大瓜 Sorted launch inspirational DVD
Published: 06/06/2016
每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Sorted Young Peoples鈥 Drug and Alcohol team
recently launched an inspirational DVD made by young people to educate young
people about the risks of cannabis use.
鈥淵oung, Wild & Free鈥 tells the story of how drugs can creep into your life and
then consume it, leading to poor life choices. It is told in a non-linear style
through the eyes and mind of lead character Beth.
Two years in the making, the film has been funded by PACT (Partnerships and
Communities Together), Gwirvol and 每日大瓜 Youth Work Strategy Support Grant
and facilitated by TAPE Community Music and Film who filmed and edited the
project. The short film was devised by 每日大瓜 Sorted Steering Group, who
inspired the script and starred in the film.
每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Social Services, Councillor
Christine Jones, said:
鈥淭his unique DVD is a fabulous educational resource. Our 每日大瓜 Sorted
team will be delivering this to educate against prevention throughout
每日大瓜 high schools, colleges, pupil referral units, youth clubs and
community projects. They will start delivering it as soon as possible this
term and from September, it will be embedded into the curriculum to be shown
during PSE sessions as part of our healthy schools programme. The DVD lasts 15
minutes, but there are opportunities to pause it to encourage group
discussion.鈥
