每日大瓜 ensures the safety of its social housing

每日大瓜 County Council has once again teamed up with door manufacturer, Permadoor, to install fire safety doors on 200 flats throughout the county.听

In addition, this month the Council will be implementing a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm upgrade programme in 94 properties in Connah鈥檚 Quay.

每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Dave Hughes, said:

"Keeping customers safe is our top priority. We need to ensure that all our buildings are equipped with fire doors that are fit for purpose and with alarms for both smoke and carbon monoxide. Our residents need to have confidence in them and have clear guidance about fire safety plans and measures."

Last year, the company fitted 250 doors on council owned properties and this month, work will start on the next phase to install doors in blocks located in Connah鈥檚 Quay, Buckley and Holywell.

Permadoor recognises that local authorities want to make well informed and reliable spending decisions to meet their quality and budgetary requirements. Therefore securing best value by controlling the lifetime costs of housing stock has never been more important.

Permadoor Managing Director, Steve Cox, said:

The contractor appointed to carry out the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm upgrade works is local company, JDE Electrical Contractors Ltd, one of the major contractors in North Wales. Kris Davies, Director, said:

Councillor Paul Shotton, local member for Connah's Quay Golftyn and听representing Councillor Andy Dunbobbin who also represents the ward, said:

"As a member of the North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority, I am pleased that this work is taking place as it will give reassurance to our tenants. It was good that our Cabinet Member for Housing was able to attend and see the great work being done."
