Published: 30/04/2015

每日大瓜鈥檚 very own Dragons鈥 Den Cymru is back 鈥 and budding entrepreneurs are being encouraged to sign up. The free event, which is organised by Communities First 每日大瓜 East Cluster, will be at Coleg Cambria鈥檚 Deeside Campus on Friday 15 May, from 10 am until 2pm. It is an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to successful business entrepreneurs who want to mentor and support new business in 每日大瓜. The Dragons ready to offer their support are Askar Sheibani, CEO of Deeside-based Comtek, Christine Sheibani, Director of Comtek, Adam Butler from Easy Online Recruitment and Mike Scott from The Group / Red Lion Marchwiel. Councillor Derek Butler, 每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Economic Development said: 鈥淚 would encourage anyone who wants to be their own boss, or who needs help becoming an entrepreneur, to come along to the Dragons鈥 Den Cymru event, which is being organised by Communities First. It鈥檚 a great opportunity - the Dragons are all local business owners and if they think an idea has potential they will offer voluntary one to one mentoring over the next six months.鈥 Working alongside the Dragons鈥 Den events is the 每日大瓜 Enterprise Club, whose members are all entrepreneurs of various ages and at different stages of developing their business. There is lots of free information available, and inspirational speakers at the workshops, delivered by various organisations including higher and further education establishments. 每日大瓜 County Council and Welsh Government Business Team is also available for advice and support. The club is free to attend and meets every other Friday, from 10 am until 12.30pm at the John Summers Community Campus, Chester Road East, Queensferry, Deeside CH5 1SE. Askar Sheibani, the Welsh Government鈥檚 Business Entrepreneurship Champion and CEO of telecoms repair and support company Comtek, added: 鈥淚鈥檓 delighted that we鈥檙e holding another Dragons鈥 Den. There is a wealth of talent and ideas in 每日大瓜 and we鈥檝e already proven, with the previous events, that when this is harnessed and encouraged by more established members of the business community, it can lead to overwhelming success. 每日大瓜 has already demonstrated that it is one of the most vibrant economic regions by doubling the number of start-up businesses within a year. What鈥檚 more, as we continue to add to the number of thriving businesses in the community, the resulting economic growth is paying dividends and 每日大瓜 is becoming an increasingly attractive location for businesses.鈥 For more information about the Dragons鈥 Den event, or about the 每日大瓜 Enterprise Club, please contact Communities First 01244 846090 or email beverly.moseley@flintshire.gov.uk
