每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 contractors delivering significant benefits for local communities

Kier鈥檚 development of the Adult Day Centre in Queensferry听has not only provided 每日大瓜 residents with a high quality Learning Disability day care and opportunity hub, but through their ethos of corporate social responsibility, Kier has also generated wider social value benefits for the local community, economy and environment.
A recent report submitted to 每日大瓜 County Council stated that over a 2 year period, constructing a 拢4.1 million project had enabled the creation of an additional 拢3.5 million of social impact, economic and environmental benefits.听 This includes 13 over 16 year olds benefitting from work experience, 6 new starter apprenticeships and 5 adult opportunities created, 600 pupils benefitting from schools and college visits and 25 training days held.听 In addition Kier Construction organised an event at Coleg Cambria to provide practical employment support for ex-forces personnel and attended the annual Careers Fair at Elfed High School to offer pupils an insight into a career in the construction industry.

These achievements of Kier are welcomed by 每日大瓜 County Council which is encouraging the contractors that it works to adopt a 鈥榮ocial value鈥 approach, in order to generate a positive impact on the County鈥檚 residents, communities and 每日大瓜鈥檚 economy.
每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Corporate Management and Assets with responsibility for Social Value, Councillor Billy Mullin, said:
