Housing Strategy and Action Plan 2019-2024

每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Community and Enterprise Overview and Scrutiny Committee will be asked to review the Housing Strategy and draft Action Plan for 2019-2024 when it meets on 18 February.
每日大瓜鈥檚 Housing Strategy and draft Action Plan sets out the vision for how the Council with its partners, will deliver our affordable housing needs, provide the relevant support to our residents and ensure we create sustainable homes.聽
It sets out 3 priorities:
Priority 1: Increase supply to provide the right type of homes in the right location through new builds, use of the private rented sector, and better use of existing stock.
Priority 2: Provide support to ensure people live and remain in the right type of home through support which will prevent vulnerable people becoming homeless and sustain them in their homes.
Priority 3: Improve the quality and sustainability of our homes including addressing fuel poverty through energy efficiency measures.
The previous Housing Strategy delivered on a number of achievements including:
路听听听听听听 Built over 300 new social and affordable homes across 每日大瓜;
路听听听听听听 Worked with the private developers to provide 134 affordable ownership shared equity units;
路听听听听听听 Regenerated Flint town centre by replacing the maisonettes with 62 affordable rent and 30 social rented properties;
路听听听听听听 Delivered a significant part of the Welsh Housing Quality Standards on both the Council housing stock and our partner Housing Associations鈥� stock.
每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Bernie Attridge, said:
鈥淭his new Housing Strategy will build on these previous achievements within the context of the current challenges we face, such as welfare reform, the increase in 鈥榟idden鈥� homeless and increasingly limited resources. The Strategy sets out the Council鈥檚 ambitions for the future in meeting the housing needs of 每日大瓜鈥檚 residents.鈥�
There will be a wider consultation on the strategy during March with the final version of the strategy being published in spring 2019.聽 More details on this will follow.
