Published: 18/09/2018
每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Chief Executive, Colin Everett, met the new recruits on an induction day at the Council鈥檚 Learning and Development Academy at Coleg Cambria, Northop.
A number of apprentices are recruited each year to develop professional skills as a start in their careers in an extensive array of areas including business, accountancy, ICT, countryside, construction, including plastering, painting and decorating and plumbing, as well as streetscene operatives, marketing, digital customer and internal audit.
This year鈥檚 cohort includes an apprentice who will be based at Theatr Clwyd, supporting the restaurant and events whilst learning professional cookery.
The apprentices usually attend college one day a week to gain industry recognised qualifications while gaining valuable experience working for the council and earning a salary.聽聽聽
Learning and Development has also employed graduates in audit and in marketing who will be able to continue their qualifications while working in the areas of their chosen profession.
Apprentices also undertake volunteering and take part in community events as part of the Apprentice framework which enhances their learning experience.
Colin Everett, Chief Executive, said:
鈥淚t鈥檚 always a pleasure to welcome our apprentices and I wish them all the best as they start their journey into employment.聽 Many of our past apprentices have gone on to enjoy successful careers in their chosen trades and professions. The fact that 96% of those on our scheme gain employment or places in higher education at the end of their apprenticeship is testament to the programme and our partnership with Coleg Cambria.鈥
