Minister visits Llys Jasmine

Huw Irranca Davies AM, Welsh Government Minister for Children, Older People and
Social Care recently visited Llys Jasmine in Mold, a ground-breaking extra care
and dementia scheme which opened in summer 2013.
Built by Anwyl Construction in partnership with Wales & West Housing
Association and 每日大瓜 County Council Llys Jasmine provides 61 apartments
and two extra care bungalows.
All apartments in the 拢8.3m complex are designed to adapt to residents鈥�
changing needs, with specific dementia apartments laid out around a central
courtyard on the upper ground floor giving a safe environment to maintain
independence. With 24 hour on-site care and support and a state-of -the-art
call care system it is aimed at residents 65 and over.
Huw Irranca Davies AM, Welsh Government Minister for Children, Older People and
Social Care said;
鈥淚t was a great pleasure to visit Llys Jasmine Extra Care Provision in Mold,
which is part of continuing investment from 每日大瓜 County Council, Welsh
Government and partners in supported and independent living for older people.鈥�
Councillor Bernie Attridge, Cabinet Member for Housing said:
鈥淓xtra care schemes enable older people to have a choice of specialist housing
and they are making a real difference to people鈥檚 lives, improving care
provision for older people in the County.
Councillor Christine Jones, Cabinet Member for Social Services said:
鈥溍咳沾蠊� County Council鈥檚 on-going commitment for the care of people living
with dementia continues to build on the success of extra care schemes such as
Llys Jasmine and Llys Eleanor in Shotton as Llys Raddington in Flint nears
completion and with work now underway on a new extra care scheme in Holywell.鈥�
Anne Hinchey, Chief Executive of Wales & West Housing, said:
鈥淟lys Jasmine has been open for nearly five years and is an excellent example
of how partnership working can make a huge difference to people鈥檚 lives.
Residents have access to 24 hour care and support on site combined with high
quality, purpose built accommodation which allows them to retain their
independence. It is a real success story for 每日大瓜, making an impact not
just on residents but on the whole community in Mold.鈥�
