Published: 01/02/2018

每日大瓜 County Council is raising the rainbow flag outside County Hall again all this month to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) history month during February. This annual event gives people the opportunity to learn more about the histories and achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and the gay and civil rights movement. It is also a time to remember the discrimination many have faced and the journey that has been made towards LGBT equality. 每日大瓜 County Council鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Corporate Management and Assets and Equalities Champion for the Council, Councillor Billy Mullin, said: 鈥淪upporting LGBT history month is important for the Council. Flying the flag throughout February month sends a clear signal that we are committed to equality for everyone, both within the Council and in our wider community.鈥 This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥楪eography: Mapping the World鈥, recognising global LGBT equality, especially now that people in Australia and up to 16 more central and south American nations will be able to enjoy same sex weddings.
